$650 plus airfare to and from Cusco (and souvenirs). Rob will arrange air travel if desired. He will be leaving with a group from O’Hare Airport on the 26th to arrive Cusco on the 27th. 


Budget: Your $650.00 is for the purchase of materials and supplies for the church building project, audio Bible units, food while we are in Cusco, and ground transportation. This amount does not include your flights to and from Cusco or any incidentals you may want to purchase while there or souvenirs.


Trip Specifics: We will be working the entire time in the city of Cusco with is at an elevation of approx. 10,500 feet. We will be working on some final touches to the Sanctuary and second floor of the church in the San Sebastian District of Cusco.


Lodging: We will be staying in the Rivera Home next door to the Church in Cusco. They have two floors available to have separate quarters for men and women. Both floors have hot water for showers. We will have a mixture of North American food as well as some Peruvian delights! We will provide filtered water to drink along with soft drinks, coffee, and tea.


About the Schedule: This is the tentative schedule for the time that you are there in Peru.

  • November 27: Saturday: Arrival in Cusco, if everyone arrives in the morning, in the afternoon they can walk through the Plaza de Armas, typical streets, and visit the Qoricancha museum or Temple of the Sun.

  • November 28: Sunday: Day of worship and rest.

  • November 29: Monday: We work in the church

  • November 30: Tuesday: We work in the church

  • December 01: Wednesday: We work in the church

  • December 02: Thursday: We work in the church

  • December 04: Friday: We work in the church

  • December 05: Sunday: Day or worship and rest. 

  • December 6: Monday: begin travel back to the States.

On one of the workdays, we will as a group travel to some of the surrounding Inca sites to see the culture and traditions of the native Peruvian people. This cost is included in your registration costs.


About the work: There are several projects for the team to accomplish while we are there. One of the projects is painting the entire sanctuary, foyer, and stairwell. We also will be constructing bathrooms and a kitchen on the second floor, laying ceramic tile and vinyl planking in a Consistory room. What projects do not get completed another team will be arriving the day after we leave to continue the work. We will be working side by side with members of the church to their specifications. We will also be bringing Audio Bibles in the Quechuan language to be distributed by the pastors and elders of the area churches.


Additional items to pack: They have cereals and other breakfast foods however, there are some things that are hard to come by or very expensive to purchase. Items include things such as Peanut Butter, Pancake mix, Nutella, Granola bars, Syrup, honey, etc. If you have a preference for any of those items, please pack them for the trip. 


You can also bring clothes for all ages for all seasons. Kid's shoes are welcomed for the mountain village children. All of these items should be in good condition.
