Cusco, Peru

RMS has been working in Cusco and the surrounding villages since 2010.  This year we will spend some time in Cusco and be working near Lares, please join us in continuing the work that we have been doing through the local church there. 

Work Projects

We will be working on two separate churches in the mountains near Lares, Peru. For both of these churches we will be creating foundations and/or laying blocks for the walls of the structure.
We will also be bringing Audio Bibles in the Quechuan language to be distributed by the pastors and elders of the area churches.

Schedule

December 2 - Depart for Peru.

December 3 - Arrive in Cusco, rest/acclimate, some light sightseeing around Cusco.

December 4 - Travel to the town of Lares in the morning, some work in the afternoon.

December 5-7 - Work days.

December 8 - Worship with the congregation in Lares.

December 9 - Work in the morning, after lunch travel back to Cusco. 

December 10 - Sightseeing in the Sacred valley visiting multiple different sites.

December 11 - Depart for home.

Cost

$800 plus airfare to and from Cusco (RMS will arrange air travel if desired). Your $800 is for the purchase of materials and supplies for the church building project, audio Bible units, food while we are in Cusco, and ground transportation. This amount does not include your flights to and from Cusco or any incidentals or souvenirs you may want to purchase while there.

accommodations

Part of the trip we will be staying in the Rivera Home next door to the Church in Cusco. They have two floors available to have separate quarters for men and women. Both floors have hot water for showers. While in Lares, we will stay at a local Hostel where RMS teams have stayed in the past, the Hostel has two bathrooms and one shower. In the evenings, we can visit a nearby hot springs that has areas for showering and cleaning up. We will have a mixture of North American food as well as some Peruvian delights! We will provide filtered water to drink along with soft drinks, coffee, and tea.
