2026 Japan
April 30 - May 15, 2026
RMS was first made aware of this work in the summer of 2024, through members of Escondido United Reformed Church who began the project “Reformation Japan”. Reformation Japan’s function is to help NAPARC Missionaries and Churches on the island establish churches and strengthen existing churches affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in Japan (PCJ).
Work Projects
We will be working in Chiba with Matt Chase and Ochan who are leaders in Christ Center Church. Our primary work will be participating in street evangelism and university campus outreach. There will be times of fellowship with members of this church as well as other churches in the other suburbs of Tokyo.
Estimated Cost
To help you plan for the trip, here’s a breakdown of costs:
Trip total (estimated): up to $1,200 USD (airfare to and from Tokyo, NRT, not included)
Packing List
A detailed packing list will be sent out prior to the trip. For your information at this point, there are no special items needed for this trip, only basic necessities.
Accommodations
As mentioned above, the group may be staying at a hotel or in a home that the church has available for guests. The hotel rooms are single or couple occupancy (one smaller bed). Rooms with two beds at the hotel can be obtained if requested for a slightly reduced per-person rate. The church owned house has four bedrooms which participants will be sharing a room.
Schedule
Japan is on the other side of the International Dateline. While we are there, there will be days/times that do not have any scheduled work; during those times, there will be an opportunity for you to see other sites in Japan (at your own expense). The other days, we will be assisting Christ Center Church in Chiba Station, Japan, with evangelism/outreach efforts, as well as other times of fellowship with other churches in the Tokyo area.
