One week serving at HAFF (Haitian American Friendship Foundation) HAFF.org high on Haiti’s Central Plateau up in the mountains of Haiti …far away from Port au Prince.
The dates for this trip are January 27 – February 5, 2020.
Schedule for the trip:
January 27: Arrive at West Palm Beach Airport before 2 pm to meet the Florida participants and drive to Ft. Pierce (MFI Headquarters) to spend the night at a local hotel (Additional cost)*.
January 28: The 6:30 am MFI flight to Pignon, Haiti.
January 28-February 3: Normal workdays in and around the HAFF compound with Sunday worship on the 2nd of February.
February 4: Morning flight to Ft. Pierce (MFI Headquarters) to arrive late afternoon/early evening. The team will then drive to West Palm Beach hotel to spend the night (additional cost) at a local hotel. Those participants from Florida will continue their drive home.
February 5: All others return home.
*The team will meet up at the West Palm Beach Airport and travel to Ft. Pierce where we will fly with Missionary Flights International (MFI) on a refurbished DC-3 airplane early in the morning. MFI flies directly to a grass-landing strip located in Pignon, Haiti. This airfield is approximately 20 minutes from the HAFF compound where we will be staying. On the return flight, we will be boarding an MFI flight back to Ft. Pierce and drive back to West Palm Beach to return to our homes the next day.

Cost: $1025.00. This amount DOES NOT include your travel expenses to and from West Palm Beach, FL, the hotel rooms in Ft. Pierce (night of January 27th) and West Palm Beach, FL (night of February 4) and souvenir money.
The accommodations are rustic at the HAFF compound. The team will be sleeping in bunk-style beds (4 to a room, gender-separated). The shower facilities are private stalls where the water is from overhead 55-gallon drums (heated by the sun). The bathroom facilities are outhouses. Clean drinking water will be provided to you. The food is authentic Haitian dishes with a mixture of some American dishes. There will be more information regarding dress and cultural practices forwarded to you at a later date when the trip gets closer.
